Whoa! Did Shay Mitchel l finally become a member of the lob club? On Monday, the 29-year-old posted a picture on Instagram , modeling an edgy haircut that stopped just beneath her shoulders. "I like to start each week with a fresh perspective," Mitchell wrote underneath the photo. "So we decided to do a little chop chop." Mitchell's fans are used to seeing the Pretty Little Liars actress with waist-length strands, so this makeover definitely caught many by surprise. But she still looks amazing rocking the most popular hairstyle of the summer . However, there's no need to get too attached to her latest hair transformation because this one is just a temporary change.
Mitchell turned to professional hairstylist Chris Appleton to score the faux look. Appleton is known for creating some of the most realistic wigs on his celebrity clients, from Kim Kardashian to Christina Aguilera , and he did the same for Mitchell. "I gave Shay a new look," Appleton told People magazine. "But it's all an illusion." He definitely had us fooled for a second. So how did he do it? The hair pro braided down Mitchell’s longer layers around the nape, leaving her natural hair loose around the face. Then, he added a short hairpiece over the plaits. As for those effortless waves, Appleton used a razor on the ends to create major texture.
It seems like these two are having so much fun with the versatility of extensions. Just last week, Appleton gave Mitchell a bold blonde makeover that was also temporary. We definitely can't wait to see what these two have planned next.
